Newcastle 1 Chelsea 0 match review

Chelsea suffer a late blow against Newcastle at the ST James Park Stadium on Saturday. Chelsea despite their domination failed to score a single goal against the Magpies. The visitors dominated the game in terms of possession having 70% of the ball and had 19 shots on target. Newcastle were offered numerous chances by Chelsea. The home team should have scored a goal pretty early in the game after a brilliant cross from Krafth was headed by Joelinton with power to hit the crossbar.
Chelsea had their fair share of opportunities in the game but failed to score. A cross from Willian was intelligently flicked by Tammy who managed to beat the keeper but his effort flicked the crossbar. Chelsea did get plenty of opportunities in the second half as well but failed to convert a single one of them into a goal. Chelsea yet again paid the price for their lack of creativity and failing to convert their shots into goals. A game they dominated with the ball ended in a disappointing defeat for the blues.
A 95' minute header from Isaac Hayden won Newcastle the game. Chelsea's struggle with setpieces has been a massive source of concern for them. The defenders have been miserable in terms of winning aerial duels and tracking crosses and this time it was Rudiger who failed to clear a cross whipped into the middle by Maxim and headed by Isaac Hayden into the Chelsea goal it should have been saved by Kepa given how close it was to his body but a sloppy effort from him allowed Newcastle to take all 3 points from the game .Chelsea's defence and lack of creativity in the attack has been a botheration since the start of the season and surely require some reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
