How Mateo Kovacic has improved under Frank Lampard ?

Not many people knew what to expect from Chelsea this season  with Frank Lampard's arrival at Chelsea who is relatively young and is only is his second season as a manager to add to Chelsea's misery Chelsea are current slapped with a 2 transfer window ban and will not be able to bring in any new reinforcements until summer 2020 if the ban is not upheld .Chelsea however against all odds have been one of the most successful teams this season scoring 27 goals and loosing only 2 game in the league and have 80 shots on target and are only second to Manchester city in terms of shots on target
The heart of Chelsea's success have been their academy players Fikayo Tomori, Tammy Abraham, and Mason Mount who have received a lot of praise for their efforts. Players like Jorginho and Christian Pulisic have also received a lot of praise and have  overcome their doubters and cemented their place in the starting Xi
But one player who has been the unsung hero in Chelsea's astonishing campaign has been Mateo Kovacic. Kovacic moved to Chelsea on a permanent deal from Real Madrid  after a successful loan spell from a player who was only considered as super sub under Sarri  he  has now emerged as the backbone of Chelsea midfield . Kovacic has established himself as a key part of Chelsea midfield and has adapted really well be it in a 4-3-3 system where he plays an offensive role or be it in the 4-2-3-1 system where he has played the role of a holding midfielder alongside Jorginho in the absence of  N golo Kante
Kovacic has played (791) minutes and has (873) touches and  (719)  passes with a magnificent accuracy rate of (90.26) Kovacic has shown impressive work rate making (187) passes forward helping his team offensively along with (7) interceptions and winning (17) tackles out of 25 to help his team defensively. Kovacic has completed second most passes at Chelsea and is only behind pass master Jorginho and has completed most take ons (26) 10 more than any other Chelsea player
The  25 year old Croatian is currently in the form of his life and is improving a lot under Frank Lampard and will without a doubt continue to be an indispensable part of Chelsea midfield
