Watford 1 Chelsea 2 match review

Frank Lampard's  men were back to winning ways after having a disappointing game against Manchester United in the Carbao Cup. Chelsea continued their stint of winning away games and it was the Hornets who were on the receiving end of it this time as Chelsea dominated them in their own backyard . Chelsea went with their successful set up of 4-2-3-1 with the regular centre half duo of Kurt Zouma and Fikayo Tomori with the club captain Cesar Azpilicueta along with Emerson Palmieri who made his return to the club after being sidelined due to an injury . The midfield duo of Jorginho and Kovacic retained their Spots . Pulisic, Mount and Willian formed the attack along with Tammy Abraham upfront

Watford aware of Chelsea's forward press decided to go for a  5-3-2 with a 5 man defence of Kabasele,Dawson,Cathcart,Masina and Janmaat. Hornets plotted former Chelsea midfielder Chalobah along with Doucoure and star performer Roberto Pereyra and the attack consisted of two Centre forwards Deulofeu and Gray

Tammy scored in the fist half to give Chelsea the lead from a magical lofted pass from Jorginho. Watford however had their moments in the first half but it was Kurt Zouma who put his body on the line to block a thunderous shot from Roberto Pereyra Chelsea would have easily been 2 or 3 goals up but the Watford goalkeeper Foster put up an amazing show by pulling out brilliant saves one of which was  a mighty hit from Mason Mount from 30 yards  . The second half was dominated completely by Chelsea  who moved the ball around rather easily and produced more precise attacks . The second goal Came from Christian Pulisic at the 55 min mark after he scored from a good low cross by Chelsea Striker Tammy Abraham . However Chelsea did pay a price for taking Watford lightly  as Deulofeu went down from a slight contact from Jorginho at the 80th min to win a penalty and  scored it to give watford a late lifeline in the game. Chelsea however managed to pull out a win after

Kepa made a great save in the additional minutes as a free kick was headed by Watford Goalkeeper Foster towards the Chelsea goal. Chelsea will surely be happy to secure a win and take all 3 points from the Vicarage Road Stadium as they sit 3rd on the table with 23 points and only 2 points behind Manchester City
