Valencia 2- Chelsea 2 Match Review

Truly a game of if's and but's that had all the ingredients to be called as one of the best group stage matches so far. Chelsea Coach Frank Lampard quoted it as a "Must win " game for both the sides and  the teams did give it their all making it a fixture worth watching for all the fans who were waiting in anticipation. Chelsea started as the pundits like to call them "Fearless" and kept Valencia under pressure in their own backyard. The visitors  almost took the lead as a cross was whipped in by the 19 year old Reece James for Willian who just wasn't able to keep it low
Valencia had their fair share of Chances as well and they managed to take the lead  just before half time as Soler scored at the 40 minute mark after a cross from Rodrigo fell in perfectly for him and he volleyed his effort past the Chelsea goal keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. Chelsea returned the favor soon as Kovacic scored his first goal for Chelsea to make it 1-1
Chelsea took the lead in the second half as Christian Pulisic latched onto a header from Zouma that fell into the mix Pulisic was quick to react and he slotted it past Cillessen to give Chelsea the lead. Valencia soon had the opportunity to equalize after the referee rewarded them with a penalty that both the referee and the Var will have a hard time explaining after Jorginho and Jose Gaya tangled in the Chelsea box following a cross from Soler .Valencia captain Dani Parejo tried to drill it towards the left but just wasn't able to get it past Kepa who pulled off an amazing save.Chelsea were holding onto the lead really well but Valencia got the equalizer as Wass' fortuitous crucial late goal turned the match around and brought it back to 2-2
Both Chelsea and Valencia now have the opportunity to decide their own fate in the last fixture of the group Stage. Chelsea play a struggling  Lille side  at home where as Valencia travel to Amsterdam to face the Dutch giants Ajax
